$19.99$25.99Clan Innes takes its name from lands in the Parish of Urquhart in Moray, granted to the Flemish nobleman Berowald in the 12th century under King Malcolm IV, with a charter for the lands confirmed to his descendants in the 13th century. The Innes name derives from the Gaelic word for 'island,' referring to land formed between branches of a stream on the family's original territory. Innes lairds became prominent in northeastern Scotland over succeeding centuries, and the family produced notable figures including a Bishop of Moray who restored Elgin Cathedral, and Sir Thomas Innes of Learney, who served as Lord Lyon King of Arms in the mid-20th century
