About Clan Pollock
Clan Pollock traces its origin to Fulbert, a Shropshire knight who came to Scotland with Walter fitz Alan around 1136 and fought at the Battle of the Standard; his sons were granted lands on the Clyde in Renfrewshire, confirmed by royal charter in 1157. Centuries later, John Pollok of Pollok fought for Mary, Queen of Scots, at the Battle of Langside on 13 May 1568 and forfeited some of his lands for his loyalty. In 1703 Queen Anne made Robert Pollok a baronet for his services to the crown, and the family's seat was Pollok Castle in Renfrewshire
