About Clan Walker

Walker is an occupational surname for a 'waulker' or fuller -- someone who cleaned and thickened woollen cloth by trampling it in water. In Scotland it also rendered the Gaelic Mac an Fhucadair, 'son of the fuller'. It does not correspond to a distinct Highland clan with its own chief.
