About this tartan

Whitelaw is a Scottish Lowland family name of territorial origin, taken from lands called Whitelaw in the Scottish Borders. It is recognized as one of Scotland's armigerous clans - entitled to historic arms but currently without a Lord-Lyon-recognized chief. The Whitelaw crest badge features a crescent, and the family motto is given as 'Gradatim Plena' ('Full by degrees')
