About Clan Fulton

Fulton is a Scottish surname taken from an old village of that name in the parish of Bedrule, Roxburghshire, where the ruined Fulton Tower stands. Early records lie mostly in the west: Thomas de Fulton witnessed a Paisley Abbey donation around 1260, Henry de Foultone of Lanarkshire did homage to Edward I in 1296, and later bearers appear in Irvine, Ayrshire. It is a documented surname rather than a Lord-Lyon-recognized clan with its own chief.
