£16.00Clan MacCorquodale's name comes from the Gaelic MacThorcadail, 'son of Torcadal,' a personal name of Norse origin. The clan held lands west of Loch Awe in Argyll, at one time owning the loch's shore from Avich to Ard-an-aiseig, and their seat was Eilean-a-Bharain, a castle on an island in Loch Tromlee. Barons MacCorquodale are recorded in the fifteenth century, and a grant of 1434 names Ewan, son of Ewan Makcorquydill
