£26.00£35.00The MacHardy tartan is recorded from an 1860 manuscript by Charles Andrew McHardy, Chief Constable of Dumbarton and a historian, which described 'The McHardy Tartan'. A smaller version of the sett was published by Johnston in 1906. The name, MacCàrdaidh in Gaelic, belongs to Aberdeenshire, where parish records place McHardy families in Braemar and Strathdon in the 17th and 18th centuries
