About Clan Napier
Clan Napier is a Lowland family traditionally said to descend from the Earls of Lennox. One legend says the name arose when a king praised an ancestor's bravery in battle, saying he had 'nae peer'. A more prosaic theory ties the name to the medieval household office of 'naperer,' the person in charge of table linen, though there is little evidence the title was used in Scotland
