The story of your tartan
Clan MacGillivray is a Highland clan of the Clan Chattan Confederation, tracing to the Gaelic Clan Mhic Gillebrath, who were based around Mull and Morvern before being dispersed by Alexander II's suppression of Argyll in 1222. Tradition holds that the clan chief sought the protection of the Mackintosh chiefs, bringing MacGillivray into the Chattan confederation....
